Ministry of Labour inspectors are investigating a construction accident at a Maple Leaf Foods plant.

A worker at the plant on Glover Road in Glanbrook was injured Monday when he fell through a floor, dropping nearly seven metres.

Ministry inspectors have issued an order not to disturb the scene of the accident and are continuing their investigation.

Hamilton police said the man was in stable condition following the accident.

Maple Leaf officials could not be reached for comment Tuesday night.

Maple Leaf is creating Canada's largest bakery and wiener factory side-by-side in the Red Hill Business Park South. The facility also processes 400 other types of meat.
