Woolworth's Supermarket Agreement Negotiations Formally Begin

26 October 2011

To All Woolworth Meat Room Employees

The National Woolworth's Supermarket Agreement 2009 expires on 30 June 2012.

Negotiations for a new agreement have already commenced on Monday, 24th and Tuesday, 25th October at the SDA Offices in Sydney.

Further meetings are scheduled for the 3rd and 4th November and 16th, 17th and 18th November 2011, all at the same address.

The SDA have submitted a log of claims, as have Woolworths. Unfortunately the AMIEU was not notified by Woolworths or the SDA that these negotiations were about to commence. If it wasn't for our members notifying us that a notice had appeared in their lunch room, we still would not have been invited.

Due to this the AMIEU were not in a position to deliver our log of claims at the meetings on 24 and 25 October. However by the 3rd November we will be able to deliver the AMIEU log of claims to Woolworths and the SDA.

AMIEU claims will have some consistency between the States, but will include some demands specific to the Victorian Woolworth Meat Room Employees.

Now is the time, if you are asked about your thoughts on the National Agreement, to let your thoughts be known.
