Brazil's JBS SA, the world's largest beef processor, said it has agreed to buy Australia-based Rockdale Beef for an undisclosed price.

Rockdale has slaughtering capacity of 200,000 cattle a year and exports to 12 countries. The company, based in New South Wales, is owned by Mitsubishi Corp. and Itoham Foods Inc. of Japan.

In the past year, JBS has purchased poultry producer Pilgrim's Pride Corp. of Pittsburg, Texas, Brazilian beef business Bertin SA and Australian lamb producer Tatiara Meat Co.
