Expressions of Interest from members to become an Organiser for the AMIEU Vic Branch

The AMIEU Victorian Branch is seeking expressions of interest from members who wish to apply to become an Organiser.

The position will mainly involve organising meat rooms in supermarkets and retail outlets, but may also cover other areas of the meat industry.

Skills in negotiating are essential

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Read and understand industrial legislation and enterprise agreements.
  • Make applications and represent members in Fair Work Australia hearings and WorkCover conciliations.
  • Travel extensively to workplaces in metropolitan and regional areas, including overnight trips where required. 
  • Provide support and assistance to elected Health & Safety Representatives and Union delegates in the workplace.
  • Be committed to the Union Movement.

Applicants must hold a current driver’s license with few or no demerit points.

They will need to be able to work co-operatively with the rest of the Victorian Branch Executive, but will also be responsible for managing their time productively and conducting themselves in an honest and respectful manner.
