Easter Holidays - March 2013

The Easter Public Holidays this year will be

Good Friday—29th March 2013

All stores will be closed and all permanent full time and part time team members will be given the day off with pay. All permanent Team Members not rostered to work on this day will be given an additional day off in lieu.

Easter Saturday—30th March 2013

Team members who choose to work should be paid at public holiday rates of
pay. Full time and Part time team members who choose not to work will be paid ordinary rates of pay including any applicable penalties.

Easter Monday—1st April 2013

Team members who choose to work should be paid at public holiday rates of
pay. Full time and Part time team members who choose not to work will be paid ordinary rates of pay including any applicable penalties.

Easter Sunday—31st March 2013

Although Easter Sunday is not a public holiday, work on this day will be voluntary. You must provide 4 weeks notice if you do not wish to work. You will need to use an R.D.O, Annual Leave, or have your hours rostered to another day in that week.

Public Holiday Entitlements

  • Work on public holidays is Voluntary
  • Full Time and Part Time team members who work on a declared public
    holiday are entitled to public holiday rates for the hours that they have actually worked. 
  • Full Time and Part Time team members who are rostered to work on a declared public holiday and elect not to, are entitled to no loss of pay
    (including any applicable penalties as specified in the EBA)
  • All Full Time team members who are not rostered to work on a public holiday are entitled to have another day off with pay in lieu.
  • Part Time Team members who are not rostered to work are entitled to time off in lieu pro rata to the full time entitlement. i.e. if you work 20 hours a week, you will be entitled to 4 hours time in lieu.
  • Casual team members are entitled to payment at public holiday rates only if they work on a public holiday

Minimum Hours you can be rostered on a public holiday

Under the Victorian Meat Agreement, team members that elect to work on a
public holiday will need to be paid for a minimum shift of:

  • Full Time—4 hours
  • Part Time—3 hours
  • Casual—3 hours
